President, IROVT: Larissa Mihalisko

While at Virginia Tech, Larissa has been a member of the Marching Virginians, completed a study abroad and internship in Prague, completed an internship with the British Parliament, and with the Italian Parliament. Larissa has been a member of IROVT since the Fall of 2005. She has previously chaired IROVT simulations and conferences, and has  served as VP Finance and VP Awareness for IROVT.


 

VP Model UN, IROVT: Alyssa Katz

Alyssa, or, as she's better known, "resident Model UN expert of IROVT," has been a member of IROVT since the Fall of 2006, has chaired several IROVT simulations and conferences, as well as served as SGA representative last year.


VP Awareness, IROVT: Melissa Menke

Melissa joined IROVT in the Spring of 2006, during which she helped immensely with IROVT  Darfur awareness events.  For her junior year of college, she worked abroad in Germany and Kenya. She returns to IROVT after a summer working in D.C. for the Advocacy Project.

 


VP Finance, IROVT: Megan Mirmelstein

Megan has traveled extensively in South Asia throughout her high school and college years. She joined IROVT in the Fall of 2005, and has chaired IROVT conferences and simulations, as well as served as VP Communications in the past.
 


VP Communications, IROVT: Trevon Talbot

Trevon has participated in Model United Nations for six years, and took an active role as co-chair in the IROVT conference, VTMUNC II. He has been a member of IROVT since the Fall of 2006.

 


Former IROVT Presidents:
 


Michael Barnett was president of IROVT from the Fall of 2004 - Spring 2006. He graduated with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. While at Virginia Tech, Michael served as a Class of 2006 officer, and participated in an internship with Parliament in Britain. Notable IROVT accomplishments include founding the current name of the organization, putting together the first Virginia Tech Model United Nations Conference (VTMUNC), and initiating the first major VT events surrounding Darfur, Sudan. Michael currently resides in Washington, D.C.

 


Mala Kumar
was president of IROVT from the Fall of 2006 - Spring of 2007. She graduated with a degree in Marketing Management and minors in French for Business and Global Business. While at Virginia Tech, Mala studied abroad in Switzerland, and participated with the administrative group the University Council of International Affairs as student liaison. Notable IROVT accomplishments include expanding awareness events on Darfur, Sudan to the greater Virginia Tech community, putting together the second VTMUNC, and organizing the student side of the Summer 2007 volunteer trip to Togo in Northwest Africa. Mala is currently residing in Lyon, France.
